The Story So Far

Welcome to Power Through Skating (formerly Skate Asylum)

Let me introduce myself.....

I'm Kirsty a Washington lass who loves (LOVES) to roller-skate!!!

Since childhood I've always been a sporty, outgoing tomboy. Usually found riding a bike with no hands, playing Kerby, on roller-skates or up a tree somewhere getting dirty and tearing my clothes to the dismay of my poor parents. Having spent my youth getting into scrapes and all bruised up and having a wonderful childhood, I have seen a steady decline in the variety of activities that the whole family can get involved in, together, as a unit. Activities that are easily accessible, fun and affordable!

Yes, Covid has a lot to answer for and I don't know about you, but I think the social dynamics in Washington were shattered by the pandemic and needs a kick start to re-connect the community.

Roller-skating is by no means a new activity but its one that's easily dismissed, because who wants to buy a pair of roller-skates and protective equipment just to see if they can stay upright for more than a minute unless they're under the age of 10?? That's where Skate Asylum comes in...…. we are now providing roller disco sessions at
